The Whitehall Public Library made the following announcements for March.
The Game Room - Ages 18+ - NEW!
Begins March 1st - Gaming is now more popular than ever. Join us for a chance to trade your thousand-plus cable channels and the rabbit holes of YouTube for some real fun with real people –plus a rule book and a table top! We are completely free —no more having to purchase overpriced coffee for the right to use precious counter space!—and we welcome Euro Games, deck building games, RPGs, and whatever else happens to move your meeple. We'll meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. Whitehall Library 100 Borough Park Drive, 15236.
In addition to our own collection, The Game Room is happily BYOB, (Bring Your Own Board Game). Please register for the first meeting on Wednesday, March 1. Call 412-882-6622 or online at www.whitehallpubliclibrary.org.

Tell Me About It!: A Storytelling Stage Show and Dinner - Friday March 24 @ 6:30 p.m.
Join the library for a special program that’s all talk! In celebration of Women’s History Month, this storytelling event will spotlight local residents telling stories on stage about the women in their lives --mothers, daughters, grannies, or even themselves! The event will showcase stories ranging from the deep and profound to the funny and lighthearted, as well as a dinner catered by Gianna Via’s Restaurant! Tickets $5 - Adults / Ages 18+ includes five raffle tickets! Advance tickets only; available at the library. Questions? Call 412-882-6622.
Shimmies, Shivers, and Vibrations: A Revealing Look at Belly Dance (and Live Performance) - Wednesday, March 29 @ 2 p.m.
As part of our focus on Women's History Month, the library presents an ancient dance form that highlights the female form and brings with it the cultural flavors of countries like Egypt, Lebanon, and Turkey. Amethyst, a local dancer and belly dance expert, will lead an introduction to the dance’s history —rooted in folk art and village parties— and perform moves from a variety of styles of the form. Designed as an interactive presentation open to all, you may choose to participate or simply observe from your seat. Registration requested; call 412-882-6622. $1 suggested donation per person.
