Are you ready to go underground and explore at the Peters Township Public Library? Join the Children’s Summer Reading program as they "Dig into Reading" and unearth great books, videos, crafts and fun! You will learn about construction, worms, bugs, gardening, burrowing animals and treasures. The program runs for 9 weeks beginning June 17 through August 16 at a cost of $5 payable at registration. Please register prior to the first day of the program. Sessions offered include:
· Children entering Kindergarten - Grade 2 - Thursdays, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
· Children entering Grades 2 - 3 - Fridays, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
· Children entering Grades 4 - 6 - Mondays, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
Children will earn one ticket for every hour read. They can redeem tickets at the "Dig into Reading" store in the Children's Department throughout the week of August 19 - 23 during regular library open hours. A “Dig into Reading” Finale Picnic will be held on Saturday, August 17 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the library with games, treats, music and food available for purchase. The library’s Teen Summer Reading Challenge, “Beneath the Surface,” will begin on Saturday, June 1 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at a Kick-Off Party with snacks, games, and giveaways as you register for the Summer Reading Challenge and sign-up for summer teen programs. The challenge will run from June 17 through August 16 and rewards you for reading. Every time you read a book and fill out a review, you will be eligible to win an awesome prize basket.
