Health

The Mon Valley YMCA is holding a Yogathon on Earth Day, April 22, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the gymnasium – this is our first-ever Yogathon! We’ll celebrate our passion for good health through yoga and celebrate the life of Debbie McKita Kurtis with seven local yoga instructors.

Register today in the Business Office of the Y. The cost is $15 per person. We ask that you bring your own yoga mat.

Debbie was a Y member who passed away far too young but left us with a reminder to smile, be joyful, find the good in everyone, and to share love and kindness. She also had a passion for finding good health through fitness and making others who attended our group fitness classes glad they came.

Debbie’s light shines on and we’ll duplicate that loving kindness with all proceeds from the Yogathon benefiting Youth Programming here at our Mon Valley YMCA. Tee shirts are also available. Purchase yours in the Business Office.

The Y’s Youth Programming allows that every child in our community has access to our youth and teen initiatives, regardless of financial means.

Youth and Teen Initiatives include:

Early Childhood Education
Teen Leader Volunteers
Day Care
Youth & Teen Programs
Summer Child Care
College Internship Program
Summer Day Camp
Competitive Swim Team
HALO After School Program
Lifeguard Training Certification
Youth Fitness Programs
Special Olympics Training
John Barbero Memorial Scholarship
