Families feeling a budget or time pinch this summer have an ally in Healthy Directions at Giant Eagle in Finleyville. The walk-in medical center located inside the Finleyville Giant Eagle is offering sports physicals for just $20. Students that need immunizations before the start of the next school year, including the meningitis vaccine that is required for most college freshman, can walk in to receive their vaccines with little or no waiting. Likewise, seniors and those over age 60 should have the shingles vaccine as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They too, can receive their immunizations at Healthy Directions. Most insurance plans are accepted.
Healthy Directions Exclusively at Giant Eagle is an appointment-free, walk-in site designed to accommodate the health care needs of today’s busy families. Healthy Directions is staffed by Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners under the direction of MVH-affiliated physicians. They provide diagnoses and treatments for non-urgent conditions in people ages 18 months and older.
The CRNPs at Healthy Directions provide physicals and immunizations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
