Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH) is the only hospital in the region to earn an “A” rating on the Hospital Safety Scorecard from the Leapfrog Group in terms of patient safety.
This marks the fourth time MVH has earned an “A” rating from this respected national organization.
“The Leapfrog Group’s “A” rating is one of the most meaningful grades a hospital can receive,” said Louis J. Panza Jr., MVH’s president and CEO. “The Hospital Safety Scorecard is considered the gold standard for patient safety and is one of the most trusted resources used by patients seeking high-quality, safe care.”
The Leapfrog Group is a national non-profit organization that was founded in 2000 by large employers and purchasers to drive a movement for quality and safety in American health care. The Group’s Hospital Safety Score is collected to transparently report hospital performance in order for consumers to find the highest-value care and make informed decisions.
In addition to the Leapfrog Group rating, Monongahela Valley Hospital received the Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospital’s for Patient Safety and has been ranked Among the Top Three Medium-sized Hospitals in the United States in Patient Satisfaction by the Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.
