Business & Merchant

On Tuesday, May 10, Chef Showdown will take place at Sweet & Spicy Culinary (located inside Off the Wall Arts) in Charleroi.

Three local chefs will battle in a friendly completion to prepare an appetizer, main course and dessert. Each chef will be given a basket of ingredients that will also contain one “off the wall” ingredient that must be used and incorporated into the menu. Each chef will be given an allotted amount of time to prepare the items, which will be judged by our “celebrity judges.” Chefs will be rated on appearance, taste and creative use of ingredients. Winslow Winery will be on site to offer wine pairings for each of the menu items created. Featured chefs are:
• Chef Michael Rygel of Chef G Restaurant & Catering – two-time winner of the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce Taste of the Town
• Chef Christine Somales – owner of Sweet & Spicy Culinary and culinary instructor
• Ron Pudlowski – Home chef and photographer

This event was designed to bring several GRC members together to showcase their talents, promote their businesses and to provide an excellent example of businesses working together. Seating is limited and advanced tickets must be purchased by calling 724-929-3329. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Greater Washington County Food Bank.
