The Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce (MVRCC) honored its finest at Monongahela Valley Hospital’s Anthony Lombardi Education Conference Center on September 10, 2015 at its annual Awards Event.
Event sponsors are EQT and Monongahela Valley Hospital and presentation sponsors are CFSBank, Community Bank, Reliance Business Solutions, Washington County Chamber of Commerce and ChamberChoice.
“We have a great slate of honorees,” said Deb Keefer, Executive Director. “We are so proud to be honoring two businesses that represent the incredible work ethic shown by Susan Jo and the Carones.” “In addition , we are recognizing the lifetime achievements of Armand Ferrara and the outstanding efforts made by the United Way that impact so many lives here in the mid-Mon Valley,” she added.
Joe and Joni Carone are among the honorees that were recognized at the Chamber’s September 10 Awards Event for “Outstanding Business Development.” Joe and his wife Joni own and operate several McDonald’s restaurants in the region. They are also being recognized for their support of the communities they serve and McDonald’s charities.
Susan Jo’s Salon was awarded the “Excellence in Business” award. Owner Susan Jo Johnson has operated her Charleroi salon for 20 years and has become a community icon known for her style and generosity.
Armand N. Ferrara was honored as the 2015 “Shining Star” at the MVRCC Annual Awards Event. His many years as a business owner and his countless leadership roles were recognized by the Chamber.
The United Way of Mon Valley was awarded the Chamber’s “Regional Service Award.” The United Fund formed in 1961 and is credited with raising millions of dollars for local causes. Phil Sparacella (left) is executive director and Pam Messina serves as campaign coordinator.
