For the past three years, Washington Financial Bank has given a grant to the Washington Symphony Orchestra that offers lower income individuals and those with special needs the opportunity to be a part of the WSO’s growing audience.
With planning underway for the 2013-14 season, Washington Financial has again stepped forward to offer its support in a grant to enable 200 adults to enjoy the concerts throughout the coming season.
According to Maryann Weinstein, Executive Director of the WSO, “We are very pleased with the ongoing support of Washington Financial in this unique program. Through their generosity, the WSO can offer free tickets to many who may never have had the opportunity to attend one of our performances. We distribute free tickets paid for by the grant through a number of social service agencies dealing with a variety of age levels and special needs. We are pleased to partner with Washington Financial to make this possible.”
Weinstein said that the bank also is a founding sponsor of the orchestra and continues to promote the WSO throughout the county by selling individual tickets at each of its branches prior to each regular concert performance at Trinity High School in Washington.
Betty Guerrieri, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Washington Financial, said that this is a unique partnership with the WSO and it provides an opportunity for more to enjoy the entertainment the WSO adds to our region. “Washington Financial is proud to be a continuing supporter of the WSO in our community.”
