“Where’s our Dollar General?”, ask residents of Union Township. In mid-summer last year, they were told that Dollar General would break ground near Mineral Beach in the fall for a new store in Union Township. Well, according to Union Township’s Zoning Officer Harold Ivery, there have been a few setbacks. First, there was some minor problem with financing, followed by a problem with the sewage tap permitting process. Then, changes within Dollar General’s organization also may have slowed things down. However, as far as Ivery knows, the store will still open. The Union-Finley Messenger will publish details on the schedule as they are learned. Dollar General has a significant amount of money tied up in this project.
