Tech Met, Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 20, 2018 to celebrate their new expansion facility located at 79 East 8th Street in Donora.

Guest speakers at the event included Jeff Kotula, President of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce; James McDonnough II, Mayor of Donora; Camera Bartolotta, Senate District 46 PA; Bud Cook, 49th Legislative District PA; and Mike Vidra, President of Tech Met, Inc. All spoke positively about the new business growth in Washington County. A tour of the facility and a reception followed the ceremony.

Tech Met is a 100% employee owned facility that was incorporated in 1988 in Glassport, PA by Gary Reed and purchased after he retired in 2013 by the Tech Met Employee Stock Ownership Trust. Tech Met provides chemical, electrochemical, photochemical machining, and surface preparation services for a variety of aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial customers. They expect to bring many new high tech manufacturing jobs to Donora and Washington County in the coming years.
