Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH) and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield today announced a multi-year contract that will ensure Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield members in Washington County will continue to have access to the quality care provided by MVH.
This will include medical imaging services, primary care and women’s health physicians and specialty services such as cancer care, orthopedics, cardiovascular rehabilitation, nephrology and surgery.
“We are happy to announce this agreement and look forward to continuing to serve Highmark members in Washington County,” said MVH President and CEO Louis J. Panza Jr. “One of the benefits of being an independent, community hospital is that Monongahela Valley Hospital accepts most insurance plans and people can receive expert care without worrying about their insurance coverage.”
In addition, Highmark members will continue to have access to MVH’s Same Day Surgery Center, Center for Children's Rehabilitation and Occupational Health Services.
"As we work to ensure continued access to high-quality and affordable care for our members, we are pleased to have Monongahela Valley Hospital in-network for our members and customers in Washington County," said Tom Fitzpatrick, senior vice president of Provider Contracting & Relations for Highmark. "We will continue to work with health care providers to reach mutually acceptable agreements that are in the community's best interests."
