About

Elizabeth’s Mon River Arts recently announced upcoming events.

“All Shook Up” - June 22-26

Mon River Arts will present “All Shook Up” from June 22-26, inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. This is a production by our high school drama troupe Stagemasters.

It's 1955, and into a square, little town in a square, little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that'll have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock," and "Don't Be Cruel."

Shows are June 23, 24, 25 at 7:30 p.m. and June 26 at 2 p.m. A special Pay What You Can Night will be held on Wednesday June 22nd at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10. Reservations may be made by calling the Mon River Arts box office at 412-405-8425 or emailing MRAboxoffice@gmail.com. All shows are at the Grand Theatre, 207 S. 2nd Avenue in Elizabeth Borough.

Grandstage Musical Theatre Camp - July 11-22

Registrations are now being accepted for Grandstage Musical Theatre Camp. This 2-week camp for ages 8 through 13 will take place July 11-15 and 18-22 from 9 a.m. until noon. This summer's theme will be songs and scenes from Disney's ‘The Descendants.’

Grandstage Musical Theatre camp will explore the basics of singing, dancing and acting. Imagination and creativity are essential components to this learning environment. Through educational games and activities, campers will also explore character development, improvisation, stage presence, public speaking, auditioning and more. To culminate their experience, campers will rehearse selections from a one-act musical featuring many popular songs to present for their final showcase performance at the Grand Theatre on Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m.

Camp will be directed by Jen Gorton and choreographed by Samantha Mitchell.
Space is limited. Deadline to register is July 1. Fee is $275. Contact Mon River Arts at 412-405-8425 for more information. Download a registration form at www.monriverarts.org
