A New Jersey-based band, “Hollywood Nights,” arrived at the Monongahela Aquatorium by boat on Saturday night, July 9 and then performed almost all of classic rocker Bob Seger’s hits perfectly for over two hours.

The ten-member tribute band included three female backup singers, and seven instrumentalists including lead vocalist and Seger sound-alike Rick Murphy, organ and guitar player Roger Mancini, bass player and vocalist Glenn "Bird" Nichols, pianists Alec Hay and Paul Seigeldorf, lead guitarist Chris Uyvari, drummer Matt Decarlo, saxophonist Andy Mohler and backup vocalists Robin Murphy, Deedee Mann and Krista Reinhardt.

“We play practically every weekend in the summer all over the eastern United States,” said drummer Matt Decarlo, who owns a landscaping business near Camden, New Jersey. The laid-back rocker, who was catching some early evening rays on the dock by the stage before the show, said he was amazed how beautiful the one-of-its-kind aquatorium and river setting were.

“Hollywood Nights” kicked things off with a rousing version of 'Roll Me Away' followed by non-stop versions of Seger classics including 'Main Street,' 'Still the Same,' 'Her Strut,' 'Like a Rock,' 'Katmandu,' 'Feel Like a Number,' 'Night Moves,' 'Rock and Roll Never Forgets,' 'Old Time Rock and Roll,' and, of course, 'Hollywood Nights.'
