Antique Bottle Show and Sale Set for November 8

The Pittsburgh Antique Bottle Club will be holding their 56th Annual Show and Sale on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The event will be held at the WTVFC Social Hall, locate at 1314 Axton Street in Belle Vernon from 9:00AM – 2:00PM. General Admission is $5.   There will be an early admission from 7:00AM – 9:00AM for $30.

The Marianna Outdoorsmen Association ("MOA") - a Pennsylvania non-profit based in Marianna Borough, Washington County, Pennsylvania which is dedicated to promoting outdoor activities and conservation efforts along the Ten Mile Creek Watershed - has initiated a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation ("PennDOT") and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection ("PADEP") in an effort to protect and preserve recreational opportunities in the Commonwealth.

On a broad scale, MOA's lawsuit: (1) requests PennDOT and PADEP abide by their statutory and regulatory obligations under Pennsylvania's Clean Streams Law (the primary purpose of which is to preserve and protect the waterways of the Commonwealth); (2) challenges the failure of PennDOT and PADEP to comply with their constitutional duty under the Environmental Rights Amendment of the Commonwealth's Constitution to conserve and maintain recreational waterways for the benefit and enjoyment of the citizens of the Commonwealth; and (3) calls into question PADEP's discriminatory practice of treating state agencies more favorably in the permitting process than environmental stewardship groups (such as MOA).

Specifically, the lawsuit alleges that PennDOT's ill-conceived plan and unpermitted actions while conducting a roadway stabilization project in a streambank of Ten Mile Creek resulted in a significant redirection of streamflow and decimation of the streambank. As a result, a formerly pristine portion of Ten Mile Creek which supported recreational activities (including MOA's Annual "Anything That Floats Race" from 2007 through 2018) is now unusable for recreational activities. Despite repeated requests from MOA, PennDOT and PADEP have refused to take any action to remedy the destruction of Ten Mile Creek.

Belle Vernon Public Library board members will have an array of treasures to tempt one and all for their Basket Raffle table at the North Belle Vernon Community Festival on October 10, from 3:00PM – 7:00 at Community Bank Park in North Belle Vernon.

The assortment includes more than a dozen baskets including an “Around the Home” starter kit, a “Tech Time” basket, car care supplies, and ones celebrating “Cozy Time,” “Fall,” “Italian Dinner” and pets.

“If you can’t make it to the Community Festival, we’ll have a selection of baskets to take a chance on at the library starting on October 1,” noted library director Elina Filander. “And even more baskets will be added to the list.”

FALL ART SHOW: October 2 - 11

The Galleria Mall, located at 1500 Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon is hosting a Fall Art Show from Friday, October 2 until Sunday, October 11. South Arts Pittsburgh members along with several other local art leagues will be participating. A variety of original artwork and photography will be available for sale throughout the first floor of the mall. Artwork on display is framed and ready to hang in your home or to be given as a gift. Cards and matted prints will also be available. Your support of local artists is greatly appreciated.

HALLOWEEN BASH AND NIGHT ARTIST MARKET: October 16

South Arts Pittsburgh is once again collaborating with Reginald’s Coffee House located at the Schoolhouse Art and History Center, 2600 South Park Road in Bethel Park for their Halloween Bash and South Arts Night Artist Market. This will take place on Friday, October 16 from 5:00PM - 9:00PM. This is an adult only event with a costume contest along with artists and vendors with a focus on a Halloween theme. Last year was the first year for this event and it was a huge success. Don’t miss out!

ARTIST MARKET: NOVEMBER 7 - 8

On Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8 South Arts Pittsburgh will host a two day artist market located at the historical Schoolhouse Art and History Center at 2600 South Park Road in Bethel Park. Local vendors and artists will be displaying and selling their artwork and handcrafted creations throughout the first and second floors of the building. This is an excellent opportunity to find that special one of a kind gift for the holiday season.

Reginald’s Coffee will be open during the schoolhouse location events to purchase coffee/tea while you peruse art. When you visit Reginald’s, be sure to check out the South Arts members’ art exhibition in the lobby. Art is available for purchase, and ten percent of the sales go to the Bethel Park Historical Society for continued improvements to the schoolhouse building.
