A Farmland Preservation Informational Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 5:30 PM Washington County Conservation District Office, located at 50 Old Hickory Ridge Road, in Washington, PA.


This workshop will consist of a 30-45 minute presentation plus Q & A session. Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop will provide an overview of the Washington County Farmland Preservation Program, including:

       - Application Process & Deadlines

       - Eligibility Requirements (including Agricultural Security Areas)

       - Farmland Ranking System

       - Program Restrictions

Anyone with a pending application to the Washington County program or considering applying to the Washington County program is encouraged to attend.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, The Magic Yarn Project held a vendor/craft show at the Monessen Fire Dept. #1 Social Hall, to celebrate Valentine’s Day.The event featured over 50 vendors, a Chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle, music provided by DJ Jammin’ Jodi, and a food truck that prepared a special menu.
