Although the boards of Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH) and its parent organization, Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. (MVHR), are composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds, these leaders share a common vision and passion. These men and women, who are among some of the area's most respected business, medical and community leaders, passionately provide vision to the hospital and its affiliated organizations as the health care providers fulfill their missions to enhance the health of the residents of the mid-Monongahela Valley area. On June 18, MVH and MVHR reelected their boards.

HealthPLEX Imaging has added new digital mammography equipment at its Rostraver facility to offer area women the latest in diagnostic imaging technologies for these X-rays of the breast.

With digital mammography, the radiologist reviews electronic images of the breast using special high-resolution monitors. The radiologist can adjust the brightness, change contrast and zoom in for close ups of specific areas of interest. Being able to manipulate images is one of the main benefits of digital technology.

How to Prevent Diabetes - Monday, June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 6 – 7 p.m., ECC. Do you want to live a healthier lifestyle and prevent diabetes? In this five-week education program, you will learn how to make better food choices, begin to lose weight, become more active, discuss changing behaviors to improve your habits and use food records to track your food choices.
