The West Newton Library will hold their 6th Annual Gift Basket Raffle on Sunday, March 12 at the Turkey Town Fire Hall, 90 Supervisor Dr. in West Newton. Doors open at 11:30 AM and event begins at 12:00 noon and runs until 4:00 PM PM. Gift Basket Drawing Begins at 2:30 sharp. There will be 25 general gift basket tickets, games of chance include President's Choice, Basket Tier, 50/50, tip boards and more. Tickets are $20 per ticket and are non refundable. Ticket includes a light lunch. American Legion Post 760 in Bethel Park will be holding a Fish Fry from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM every Friday during Lent for TAKE OUT ONLY. The Menu includes: Baked or Fried Fish, Shrimp, Mac n Cheese, Homemade Coleslaw & Haluski, Lobster Bisque Soup, French Fries or Potato Chips.

The Valley Garden Club, for the twelfth year, will be awarding a scholarship to assist a student pursuing an education in the study of horticulture, landscape design, botany, plant pathology, forestry, agronomy, environmental concerns, city planning, land management. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded for the full academic year and will be given to the student to further his or her education.

The Rostraver Woman’s Club is sponsoring a Stuffed Pork Chop Dinner for Take-out only on Saturday, April 22 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Gary’s Chuckwagon Restaurant, 109 S. 2^nd Street, West Newton. The take-out dinner will include stuffed pork chop, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert, roll and butter. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased by calling Mary at 724-929-2307 or Beata at 412-215-5187. All proceeds will help to support the Rostraver Woman’s Club and the annual Belle Vernon Area High School Senior Girls Tea.
