The November meeting of the Charleroi Veterans Honor Roll Committee was held to review progress made in the North Charleroi and Charleroi honor rolls in regards to updating them with more local veterans’ names. Eligibility of any veteran is established by their DD-214 and is a requirement for updating.

Read more...Each year, Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH) kicks off the Toys for Tots Campaign in the Mon Valley. On October 20, teams of MVH leaders created 13 baskets filled with dolls, games, puzzles and other toys, including four baskets for special needs children. They also assembled 13 riding toys for the local Toys for Tots.

The independent, non-profit program delivers nutritious, freshly-made meals to anyone who has difficulty shopping for food or cooking meals, regardless of income. They primarily serve senior citizens but can also assist others in special circumstances such as a disability or illness.

The Holiday Craft Fair, hosted by the Charleroi Area Historical Society, was held at the Riverside Place Senior Center on November 5 and 6, 2016. The holiday event had something great for everyone, and while it got off to a slow start, the crowd picked up as the day went on. This was their first year for the craft fair. Read more...
