North Strabane resident Ian Hess was named most valuable pitcher after his team, the Pittsburgh Lightning, won the 17U Dynamic Baseball Mid-Summer Classic Tournament ,played at the University of Maryland.

Hess pitched all 7 innings, giving up 3 hits and allowing only 1 run to score in their 5-1 victory over ProSkills Baseball from NJ. He also threw 7 strikeouts. The team competed in a field of 27 teams from various cities in NY, NJ, MD, and PA.
