Writers' Group - Saturday, January 3 at 10 a.m.

If you're a writer looking for constructive criticism or if you're a complete novice who is interested in getting started, then join this club. We meet the first Saturday of the month. No registration required.

Good Show! - The TV Club - Monday, January 5 at 10 a.m.

Many critics say that we are now in a second Golden Age of television. With so many choices, it’s easy to be left behind. Join us then for a special series dedicated to . . . a special series! No registration required. For details, call Brandon at 412-882-6622.

The Eye Guy: A Chat with Author and Doctor John Barber - Tuesday, January 6 at 1 p.m.

Are you seeing fireworks? Do you have double vision? What happens during eye surgery for cataracts? What exactly is macular degeneration? If you want the answers to these questions and more, come be a pupil when we welcome Dr. John Barber to discuss his new book, Hey, Doc! What’s Wrong with My Eye? In addition to his talk, Dr. Barber will answer any questions you have about your eyes. FREE - Registration is required.

 

Borrowing eBooks on your Tablet - Wednesday, January 7 at 7 p.m.

Come in to learn how to borrow ebooks on your tablet. Overdrive is a free library app that allows you to borrow eBooks and audiobooks, all from the comfort of your home and free with your library card. Come learn how to download and use it on your device. Be sure to bring your fully charged device, power cord and your library card. FREE – Registration is required.

Open House Special/Post-Holiday Session - Saturday, January 10 from 1-3 p.m.

Come in to learn how to borrow ebooks on your tablet. This session covers connecting to a wireless network, installing an app and getting on the internet to download eBooks to read or listen. Make sure your device is fully charged and please bring your power cord. No registration required.

Snowy Day Activity - Saturday, January 10 at 1 p.m.

Do you want to build a snowman? Join us for a few snowman stories and make a puffy paint snowman craft! Play ‘snowman, snowman where's your nose’ and ‘stuff the snowman.’ Create your own marshmallow treat to enjoy with hot chocolate. FREE – Registration is required.

Seeking a Funding Events Coordinator:

Are you a great party planner? Do you love to organize events and make people happy? Do you have experience in organizational fundraising and do you love libraries? The Whitehall Public Library is seeking to hire a fundraising events coordinator. The coordinator would be hired on a contracted basis to plan, market and oversee two library fundraising events during the course of the 2015 budget year.

The coordinator will work closely with the Library Board and staff to develop and implement ideas and then plan and market selected fundraising events. Salary involves a per-service flat rate and a commission based upon net fundraising revenue in excess of pre-established goals.

Fundraising and marketing experience preferred, but not required, and much of the planning may be done from home. If interested, please submit a resume and cover letter to:
