Demolition began July 20, 2026, to make way for a more accessible, level parking facility; hospital operations and patient care will remain fully uninterrupted.

Penn Highlands Mon Valley has announced the upcoming demolition of its campus parking garage, marking the first step of a modernization project designed to improve safety, accessibility and convenience for patients, visitors and staff.
The demolition of the existing parking structure is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 20, 2026. In its place, the hospital will build a new, level, paved parking lot that features safety lighting and easy access to the campus.
“We are constantly evaluating how to improve our infrastructure to better serve our community,” said Josh LaFleur, MBA, Regional Market President – Southwest Region for Penn Highlands Healthcare. “Replacing the old garage with a bright, open and level parking area allows us to provide a safer, more welcoming and accessible environment from the very moment someone arrives on our campus.”
Hospital operations, patient care and emergency services will remain fully operational throughout the demolition and construction process. A formal ribbon-cutting and announcement will take place upon the completion of the new lot later this year.
