The Fall Fleatique on the Mon event, a much-anticipated street sale in Monongahela and New Eagle, was held this year on Sat., Oct. 4 from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The crafters, antique dealers, and food vendors were held in the Aquatorium with free admission, and flea market items were sold on 3rd St., and scattered around town. There were businesses participating, yard sales, bazaars, churches, and even rummage sales.
The popular event known as ‘the largest street sale in Southwestern Pa,’ spanned along 3 miles from Monongahela and New Eagle. The event had to relocate some activities this year from Chess Park to the Aquatorium due to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington performing much-needed repairs in the area.
This year marked an amazing 27 years now for the annual Fleatique, according to Dorothea Pemberton, Executive Director of Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce who sponsors the event.
“Everybody participates, from churches to homeowners. It’s definitely community involvement,” said Pemberton.
Starting early in the morning, the Fleatique brought in people of all ages, and a wonderful time was had by all. The weather was beautiful as predicted, and there was something of interest for everyone.
